Join our community team as a volunteer parish councillor for Pill and Easton-in-Gordano. Dedicate roughly 2-4 hours weekly, plus meetings, to make real changes. You’ll handle local projects, pen reports, chat with residents, and participate in council meetings to make decisions on behalf of the parish, influencing local policy and development. We need your knack for project management, your open-mindedness, and your ability to connect with people. It’s a very fulfilling position with lots of satisfaction from enhancing our village life.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for those who wish to contribute directly to their community’s development and welfare, making a tangible difference through local governance.

Dates

To be considered as a Parish Councillor, completed application forms need to be with the Parish Clerk, by email or by post, by noon Thursday 2nd January 2025.

What’s next

Eligible candidates will be invited to attend a meeting on the evening at 7pm on 6th January 2024 at Christ Church to give a short presentation on their reasons for applying. The new councillor will be co-opted at this Parish Council meeting unless there is only one candidate in which case they will be co-opted automatically.

Once elected, Parish Councillors sit on the Parish Council for a maximum of four years. If they then want to stay in the post, they can stand for re-election. All Parish Councillors are volunteers which means if you can no longer meet the commitment, you can stand down.
